Rohtang Pass in May

Rohtang Pass is 51 km from Manali and is the main snow point in Manali. Its altitude is 4111 metres on the Manali-Keylong highway. It is the main and the most desired location of visitors visiting Himachal Pradesh.

In the month of May, the roads to Rohtang Pass are opened and the scenic beauty has no words to express. Tourists enjoy playing with snow balls. Adventurous sports like paragliding, skiing, snow biking and horse riding can be enjoyed there. During this month there would snow of 1-2 feet in Rohtang Pass. During this month it’s the peak season as other parts of India experiences summer and tourists opt to visit here far away from the heat zones. The surrounding valleys are fully covered with snow and the scenic beauty caught by our eyesight becomes a treasure which will always be cherished in everyone’s life. It can be expressed life in heaven and India’s Switzerland. To play in snow tourists are advised to wear the warm clothes and boots available on rental basis, as they protect from getting wet and with no hesitation can enjoy the best on snow.

  • Do not forget to carry heavy woolens for Rohtang pass as it is a very cold place all round the year. You also have the option of getting this clothing on rent on the way to Rohtang Pass
  • The pass is closed on Tuesdays for tourists
