Capital Complex Chandigarh

Chandigarh Capital Complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site designed by Le Corbusier, located in Sector-1, Chandigarh city, India. It is the seat of both Punjab and Haryana government. This complex is a specimen of the outstanding architecture of Le Corbusier and it also shows the Chandigarh to be a planned city. It is spread over an area of 100 acres and is a great expression of the architecture of Chandigarh.

Inside the complex are secretariat, assembly and high court buildings. In the middle of the capital complex is the ‘Open Hand’, which is the official symbol of Chandigarh. Tourists can also see these three magnificent buildings from here. To get a closer look at these buildings, you will have to take permission from the Tourist Bureau at Sector 9 or the Tourist Reception Center at Sector 17 Plaza.
