Saketri Shiv Mandir Chandigarh

Saketri Shiva Temple is a Hindu temple located in Panchkula, India. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is from 500 year old ancient temple of Lord Shiva in the village Saketadi near Chandigarh. There are two Shivling in this temple. The specialty is that one Shivling falls at Panchkula and the other falls in Chandigarh. This ancient temple has a cave under the Shivling. Milk is put here in the stem. The snake, which is considered to be another form of Lord Shiva, drinks milk. According to the temple priests, people who visited here 50 to 60 years ago have seen Shivji drinking milk in the form of a snake. Some people were scared to see this form of Lord Shiva drinking milk. So the temple administration started closing its doors at that time.

All the festivals are celebrated in the Saketri Shiva temple, especially special worship is organized on the festival of Shivaratri. On this auspicious day of the Lord, thousands of devotees throng the shrine to get His blessings.

Saketri Shiva Temple is located 8 kms from Chandigarh.  Buses and private taxis are easily available for this place.  Alternately, you can drive your way there as well.
