In the month of September, the monsoons are making a way for the chilling winters. Earlier in July the rains are not cold but as the time progresses, by the end of September cold winds are experienced and one cannot do without light woollens. The temperature during days may be as high as 250c and may drop down in nights to 150c. As sometimes much precipitation does not occur during this month and if sun shows its presence people comes out in sun. And minutes after, it may rain ruining the plans of enjoying sunshine. Due to heavy downpours, Dharamshala experiences landslides and tree felling. But this is the significance of monsoon season.

Dharamsala has Dhauladhar mountain range on one side and fertile valley and Shivalik ranges on the other side. It is the main tourist destination of Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Clement and fabulous weather is the charm which Dharamshala provides and that too throughout the year except for winters, when it’s chilling but snowfall during winters has its own appeal and charm. Monsoon season spread from July, August to September in the year. As it rains heavily and you may not be able to wander around in Dharamshala and it may ruin your trip. Therefore, this particular point of year is not advisable for planning a trip to the queen of hills.

Due to rain, the landscape of hills and slopes covered with green deodar and chill trees have their leaves look brighter. The surrounding view is no less delectable, from where one can see the amazing view of the sun shifting in the color of the changing sky and clouds. August month is one of the monsoon months in Dharamshala, where Dharamshala receive heavy rainfall. Avoid traveling here during the monsoon as it may hamper your travel plans, but this place does not get much rain compared to other parts of Himachal.

In beginning of July, it’s not too cold but as time progresses with August and September the rains becomes cool and winds are causing shivering. So light woollens, light shawls need to be carried. And most of all don’t forget umbrellas, raincoats they can at least save the body from getting wet and finally becoming sick.
